Pizza Dough Easy at Home

Transform your home kitchen into a pizzeria with this effortless pizza dough recipe. Ideal for home baking enthusiasts, this versatile dough can be prepared a day in advance and stored in the refrigerator overnight. Alternatively, you can freeze the dough for up to three weeks, ensuring you always have the foundation for a delicious homemade pizza at your fingertips.

The cornerstone of any great pizza is its dough. While store-bought options are convenient, they often fall short in terms of flavor and texture. Crafting your own dough not only elevates the quality of your pizza but also provides a sense of accomplishment and control over the ingredients. The recipe I present here is designed to be simple yet effective, making it accessible even to novice bakers.

Dough

Straight dough method, make one large pizza

Ingredients

  • 250g bread flour or 00 type flour

  • 2 tsp active dry yeast

  • 180ml water

  • ½ salt

  • 1 tsp olive oil

Steps:

  1. Dissolve yeast in a small bowl of water (70-110 degrees Fareinhet) set aside 3 minutes

  2. Add the yeast and water mixture and mix using the dough hook or elbow grease for 10 minutes. This process distributes the yeast evenly throughout the dough and develops the gluten

  3. When the dough form does not stick and begins to pull together, cover with plastic wrap and rest 2 hours.

  4. Flat the dough and use your hands pull the dough from the centre and stretch out until it reach the desired width on the baking sheet or use rolling pin roll the dough out

  5. Let it rise for 30 minutes before you add the topping

Choose your own topping

I love baking pizza at home. I get to choose the toppings, and the sauce whether it’s tomato sauce, white sauce, or bbq sauce. I love trying different types of pizzas on pizza night: Sicilian pizza, deep dish Chicago pizza, Neapolitan pizza, Hawaiian. But sometimes, I build my pizza from whatever leftover protein and veggies I have in the fridge and the result is phenomenal and delicious!

My favourite is Quattra Formaggi pizza with fresh mozarella cheese, parmesan, goat cheese, and gorgonzola. Another sauce I like to add to pizza is pesto! And caramelized onions always make for good toppings Voila !

I always make pesto sauce, onion caramel ready to use in the fridge :)

Enjoy your homemade pizza!
